| SolutionsBiometrics technology uses one's physical characteristics for authentication, making security based on something you are and no longer on something you remember. A fingerprint cannot be forgotten, guessed or given away as password can, making it the optimal network security solution. |
| Fingerprint recognition is an exceptional single sign-on solution for your company. User's fingerprint can be scanned and stored on a smart card using NEC's enrolment tool which enables rapid and easy deployment process. Every logon attempt on the fingerprint reader is authenticated by the smart card that authorises employee's access to the network and to company's applications. |

| NEC Standard Biometric Solutions : |
| Usernames and passwords are the traditional and well-known means to protect information, but they may not be strong enough to provide a fully secured environment for a company. AET Middleware comes along with a smart card and a USB smart card reader to facilitate a two-factor authentication system. |
| A private key is created on the smart card and a user can only access the smart card functions via a PIN code. Someone in possession of only the smart card or only the PIN code will not be able to access information. |
